We design each Light Field Trips Guide around a general theme, so you will have an idea of what you might get up to during the day, but you won’t know where we’re sending you! We’ve spent years exploring our region to connect with local businesses, hidden history, cute cafes, and charming towns.
Our Light Field Trips are carefully curated with the idea that you aren’t looking for a checklist of random places that you can’t really connect with. We want you to discover and make connections without the buzzwords. We know there are a countless blogs, magazines, news, lists, podcasts and shows that put their spin on touristy places that they recommend. But our trips follow a storyline that invites you to make a meaningful connection to the sites we suggest. We tell you how they are connected and hope that you make your time there special.
While road trips do have expenses, we look for budget-friendly options and list the costs for each recommendation.
Most of our destinations have multiple historic sites, museums, and other educational attractions.
Visiting small towns and interacting with locals provides a unique cultural experience that is often different from attractions found on top ten lists.

Your Gift Edition field trip package includes an essential Before You Go guide, as well as a leather note book, that leads you to a delightful surprise destination on your road trip. If you want an instant destination, we have that option too, with a beautiful PDF version that you can print out.
Now, let’s talk about what makes our field trips truly special. Our itineraries are carefully designed to make exploration easy and exciting. Each stop contains everything you need to know on how to get to the surprise destination, complete with unique suggestions, handy maps, insider tips, and captivating facts that will make your explorations fun and informative.
But don’t open which ever edition you choose till you are ready to go; why spoil the surprise?
What Is Included?
How Long Do Trips Last?
Our trips are designed to fit in to your average day. Roughly they will take 6-8 hours, but you really determine the pace.
We send your trip by regular mail. Our beautiful box is carefully wrapped and contains your custom leather field guide. We include sealed envelopes for each spot, containing special recommendations, clues, and options, as well as maps, background info, and alternate suggestions.
Most venues are opened on weekends, While you can take the trip on a weekday, please check the guide when you reveal your destination.
Each trip is $95 and includes shipping. you will still have to pay any entrance fees but we provide plenty of free stuff to do. Your journal is made in the USA.
